Our Story

What began (in 2010) with just one property, one owner, and one tenant has grown into a thriving property management company overseeing more than 600 homes — all supported by our dedicated team of eight.

As hands-on business owners, we’ve built this company from the ground up, personally navigating every challenge and opportunity along the way. From day one, we made a deliberate choice to specialise in managing new builds and quality homes. We recognised that many new investors needed guidance, and we had the experience, training and qualifications to support them — while also providing peace of mind that their properties were in qualified hands.

We understand the true monetary value of a property — for many, it’s their most significant investment, often nearing or exceeding a million dollars. Just as you wouldn’t entrust a financial investment of that size to an unqualified administrator, you shouldn’t entrust your rental property to just anyone. Selecting a property management company with trained, qualified professionals should be a key requirement. Your investment deserves the same level of care, expertise, and accountability as any high-value financial asset.

Xclusive’s journey hasn’t been without obstacles. During the Canterbury earthquakes, we rolled up our sleeves and worked directly with EQC inspectors, managed emergency clean-ups, and even ran the business from our home while the city was closed. During Covid we managed to set our team up in each of their homes to continue working and became zoom experts in communicating and managing everything online. Through it all, we never lost focus on our commitment to property owners.

Today, Xclusive’s team operates with a strong internal structure that pairs each Property Manager with both a Letting Manager and an Inspections/Maintenance Manager. This ensures every property is cared for by specialists at each stage — from tenant selection to routine inspections.

At the heart of what we do is strict tenant selection. We believe the key to a stress-free investment is placing respectful tenants who understand their responsibility to care for the home they live in.
